Christ definitely had a hand in bringing my family to St. Mary’s Catholic School.
I grew up a ‘cradle Catholic’, graduated from Granbury High School, and in 2001 received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. In 2002, I began a teaching career at Kennedale High School. I loved teaching.
Ryan Janek and I were wed here in West by Father Ed in 2004. We excitedly became parents in September of 2007, and we made the choice for me to stay at home and raise our family. I loved being home with my children.
When our oldest was old enough for PreK we thought it would be a good experience for her to socialize and prepare for school. We had heard wonderful things about St. Mary’s 4K program, so in August of 2012 she became a Mustang. We absolutely fell in love with St. Mary’s Catholic School and all it had to offer our children. We have three daughters now. Our oldest graduated St. Mary's in 2022, our middle daughter graduated St. Mary's in 2023, and both attend West High School. Our youngest is still attending St. Mary’s.
In 2015 I accepted the position at the school as the Director of Development, and in 2023 excitedly moved back into the classroom. I have loved each stage of my life, and this is no different. I truly feel that God has given me experiences throughout life that have led me here to this position at St. Mary’s. I love that Ryan and I have found a church and a school that will give our girls a strong foundation in their faith, and I feel blessed that I have the honor of working at this great school.
When away from work my upmost joy is found in family time! I enjoy running, dancing, traveling, and almost anything outside. I love all animals, but my favorite is elephants.
