Master Reading Teacher
I feel so blessed to be a part of St. Mary’s Catholic School.
I come from a strong Catholic family and have always loved to share my faith. I graduated from Abbott High School and Hill Junior College. After marrying the love of my life in 1982, I continued my college courses at Blinn College in Brenham and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
I began my teaching career in 1986 at Mt. Calm ISD teaching 3rd and 4th grades. I taught at West ISD from 1989 until my retirement from Public School in 2014. While at West I taught 1st through 4th grades and was a Reading Interventionist for many years after earning my Master Teacher Certification in Reading in 2001.
My husband Robin and I have three children, Justin, Jacob, and Julia. Justin went to be with our Lord in 2007 after a ten year battle with leukemia. Jacob is married to our beautiful daughter-in-law Kaylyn. They have given us a sweet grandson Samuel and precious granddaughter Sophie. Our daughter Julia lives in New Orleans.
I love teaching in a Catholic school because we can pray daily, and I can include God in my lessons each day. I want my students to know and understand that God is everywhere, always with them, and is ready to help them at any time.
God is Good, All the Time.
