My heart is full of gratitude to be a part of St. Mary’s Catholic School!
I am originally from the Fort Worth area, but I came to West as fast as I could! I graduated from Mansfield High School and moved to Waco to attend Baylor University. I am a proud graduate of Baylor University’s School of Education. I earned a B.S.E. in English Education in 1999 and began my teaching career shortly after. I have been a teacher of English, reading, and writing in grade levels six through twelve. I cherish the seven years I spent in the classroom as a teacher, and my heart will always be full of hope and excitement when I enter a classroom! During my time teaching, I was encouraged by a wonderful mentor to pursue my Master of Education degree in Educational Administration, and I graduated with my M.Ed. in 2005 from Tarleton State University.
I began serving St. Mary’s Catholic School as principal in June of 2006, and I continue to be grateful for the opportunity that God has given me to be the leader of our school. Catholic education is a gift that our parish has so generously provided to the West community since 1899, and I feel truly humbled to be among the faculty of SMCS. I often pray and ask for the intercession of the Sisters of Divine Providence who initially founded our school; I pray that they would be proud of all of the work that is happening at SMCS. I just love being a part of our school community, both as a principal and as a parent. It is a blessing to work in a place in which I feel as if I get so much more than I could ever give. These sweet students make my heart happy each day.
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Sean, since 2001, and he is definitely my better half. We have been blessed with one son, who is our greatest joy. We love watching our son grow as a student at SMCS. As a family, we love baseball, reading, and really just spending as much time together as we can!
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his mercy endures forever.
