BS, Sociology/Psychology/Education
As a child, I attended St. Mary’s Catholic School from 1st through 8th grade. I am a 1994 graduate of SMCS and a 1998 graduate of West High School. After high school, I attended McLennan Community College for a year before transferring to Texas A&M University. Whoop! I graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology with a Minor in Psychology.
I worked in the social services field for 5 years before going back to school to earn my Texas teacher’s certification in Special Education as well as General Education – PreK-6th grade. I taught Resource & Special Ed Inclusion at Connally ISD for 5 years in grades 4-8. After my time at Connally, I moved to Gholson ISD where I taught 3rd grade for 3 years. Although I loved my time at Gholson and all of my students, the opportunity presented itself for me to come “back home” to SMCS. I can honestly say, it has been the best move I could’ve ever made!
I have three daughters. Sadie, 16, attended SMCS from PreK – 8th grade and now attends West High School as a junior. Hannah, 12, is currently in the 7th grade at SMCS and Hallie, 7, is in 2nd grade at SMCS.
