I am a native West, Texan and have lived here most of my life. I feel that our little gem of a school is and has been the BEST place for my own sons to grow up and begin their educational foundation. I have been blessed to be a part of a school community that strives for excellence in all parts of our students’ lives. At SMCS, we are indeed fulfilling our school’s mission of seeking God’s will to love, encourage, and educate our students in the Catholic faith, helping them to reach their highest potential in spirit, mind, body, and spirit.
After graduating from Baylor University with a BSE and attaining my TX Teacher Certification in Elementary Self-Contained (Grades 01-08), Elementary Reading (Grades 01-08), and Early Childhood Education (Grades PK-KG), I was given the opportunity to become a part of this wonderful school family. I began teaching 2nd Grade in 1999 and stayed in that position for 9 years. After that, I moved over to the big kids (JH) and taught Math and Religion for 6 years. I am currently the Athletic Director/PE Teacher/ Assistant VB, BB, and Track coach. I absolutely love my job and the students I get to spend my days with. It is definitely the best job on campus!
Personally, I have 4 sons, all who are SMCS alumni. I feel that SMCS has helped them to grow into the wholesome young men God created them to be. I am passionate about spending time with my sons, whether it is watching them compete in sporting events or just hanging out. They are truly the joys in my life. In my rare spare time, I enjoy working out, cooking, and reading a good book. My prayer is that I have been at least half the teacher that my own students have been for me.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
