I have always been immersed in the Catholic faith and its traditions. I started out at St. Mary’s Catholic School – Waco before jumping over to St. Louis Catholic School and graduating from Reicher Catholic High School in 2009. After graduation, I continued following the Catholic faith at Our Lady of the Lake University – San Antonio where I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2013.
Besides my devotion to my Catholic faith, I have another devotion to studying the English
language and Literature. My love for English never stopped growing, and I eventually found myself living in England from 2013-2014. There, I studied Shakespeare’s works with the University of Birmingham’s Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-Upon-Avon. My passion was to find ways to make Shakespeare’s works accessible to a new generation of students, especially those on the Autism Spectrum. Submitting my formal dissertation was a huge leap for me to solidify my passion for teaching new generations and researching new ways to make Shakespeare accessible to anyone and everyone.
I started off as a substitute teacher after returning from England in 2014, but I knew I wanted to teach what I was passionate about full time. I have the following certifications: EC-12 Art, 4-8 Generalist, 4-8 English Language Arts, 8-12 English Language Arts, and English as a Second Language Supplemental.
From 2015-2016, I worked with Waco ISD, but I soon found myself seeking a higher calling. I am delighted this calling has placed me with the wonderful St. Mary’s Catholic School family. It brings me great joy being back in a Catholic faith-based learning environment, except now I’m the one behind the teacher’s desk and giving back to the future’s next generation of students.
